渔 (yú)
渔(fishing)= 氵(a semantic part meaning water)+
鱼 (a phonetic part meaning fish)
“渔” share the same pronunciation (the same tones) with “鱼”, both of which are similar in their characters. The only difference is that the first has a radical “氵” (called sāndiǎnshuǐr in Chinese), which is related to water. Today, “渔” refers to people who are engaged in fishing in the sea or rivers. In ancient Chinese, “渔” also refers to the action of fishing.
