休 (xiū )

休 （rest）= 亻(dān rén pángr, a semantic part meaning people) +
                   木 （a semantic part meaning tree）

The character “休”was composed of two meaningful radicals. Different from xíng shēn zì, which was composed by a semantic part and a phonetic part, the character "休" is composed of two semantic parts.  

The character 休 tell us one man is leaning against a tree. What is he doing? He is stopping working and taking a rest. Therefore, it has two important meaning, one is “rest”, and the other is “stop”.

休假 (xiū jiǎ) take a vacation or holiday

休闲 (xiū xián) be not at working and spend a leisure time.
